The BRO has been operating on the Broad River since 1980.
We have been working along side the BRWA.org to protect the river from bad development and pollution since we help to start the organization since 1981.

The Broad River Outpost, " the BRO", established in 1982 renting kayaks and canoes on Georgia's Broad River.
Beginner White Water or Scenic Floats create the ultimate place for a weekend get-a-way or an after class adventure.
The BRO, only 23 miles from downtown Athens / UGA,

THE SHOP
"The BRO" rents solo & tandem sit-on-top & sit-in recreational kayaks, & canoes. Private boater shuttle, free*camping [ for our paddlers only] and parking for customers. Frozen meals, sandwiches, snacks, drinks ,dry gear, hats, t-shirts, and small coolers for sale.
Rentals on two sections of the Broad River. Section one is mellow and section two has beginner whitewater.
Our most popular trip starts here at the BRO. "No worry" about getting started on your kayaking adventure if you forget something ? Your vehicle or our shop is here to help outfit you.
We have free* camping for our kayakers and canoers. Wooded camp sites are for indivuals and groups and include hot showers, fire pits and picnic tables. Reservations required with credit card deposit. Our campground is for our paddlers only.
Friendly Leashed dogs that play with other dogs and people are welcome. Dogs must be on leash while not on the water for everyone's sake including non-dog owners.
Unvaccinated people are encouraged to wear masks.
Free masks available for the bus rides if wanted.
Please bring only ONE small cooler that locks / zips shut. No styrofoam or glass. We recycle plastic bottles, paper and aluminum cans.
Free certified Well Water to refill your re-usable bottles.
If not on the water, you're trespassing on private land.

* We encourage a min $1 donation per car parking and $1 per person per night for campers to the Broad River Watershed Association (BRWA). Help protect the Broad River by donating and/or becoming a member of these groups www.brwa.org and www.garivers.org
